Original front and rear sights. Lock plate stamped forward of hammer “GODDARD/WARRENTED”. Full length maple stock with original floral incise carving on the butt. Brass mounts and patch box. Silver wrist escutcheon and “NEW MOON W/FACE” cheek rest inlay. Acanthus scroll carving about the barrel tang. Very good overall with light to moderate wear. Stock with original old handling patina and metal dark with the patina also original. Lock in working order and rifling very well defined and bore quite good. Original hickory ramrod. Descended in the family of listed gun maker’s John Park, Sr. and Jr. of Huntington County but this rifle may not be their product. The Park family made guns and also operated a tavern.
