Description:
This is a NIB, Colt US Cavalry Commemorative set marking the 200th anniversary of the US Cavalry 1777-1977 consisting of two pistols and accoutrements. One pistol is serial No. 1922US, the other US1922. This set includes (2) Model 1860 Army Revolvers; both pistols are 44 cap & ball. These guns are beautiful: color case hardened receivers and bullet rammers. The trigger guards are brass. The barrels, cylinders and backstraps are blue. Cylinder is roll engraved with a Naval engagement scene, saying engaged 16 May 1843, w/ Colt's patent numbers. The unturned cylinders are unfluted, 8 inch barrels read “United States Cavalry Commemorative”. Has “MJH” cartouche on the black walnut grips. Also included in this set are: (1) powder flask, (2) bullet mold, (3) nipple wrench, (4) cap can, (5) one piece walnut shoulder stock and (6) the walnut English fitted display case with blue velvet lining. This set was one of 3000 sets made in 1977.
