Barrel is 24 inch octagon with full length mag tube an rifle butt. Butt plate has about 75% of the flaking nickel plating. About 20% original blue remains on the frame. Barrel and mag tube have some thinning blue with the remaining turning a plum brown. Wood is in good shape, but appears to have a coat of oil on the stock. The bore could use a good cleaning. This is the rarest of the 1873 caliber rifles, as only 19,552 were manufactured in .22 Short or .22 Long out of the 720,610 total Model 1873's produced. Winchesters first 22 caliber.
