Description:
This is a double listing- Swedish Mauser 6.5X55-!

The story goes that King Gustaf wanted his Mausers made of Special Swedish Steel- because they had very highly controlled smelting which produced excellent qualities and properties. That combined with the Paul Mauser design- meant that even the US was paying royalties to Mauser...up until WWI.... And the rest is History.

Both guns are nearly identical in condition- which is very good - due to the quality of the steel-! Both guns have matching major part numbers, etc. except one (floor plate) and one (has a bolt which is not matching). Stocks are solid and bores are nice - quite a twist rate for this longer length over diameter bullet. It is why many "long range shooters" are going back to this loading in the form of the "260 or 6.5 Creedmore"  Actual is .255. Its a marvelous round ballistically.

Pay close attention to the front sight heights- one is "ZERO" or '0' the other is -.05 meaning that this front site is meant to shoot quite a bit further (raise it up) to attain the same sight picture.....than the "0"- etc.

Both guns are AMAZING at 200 meters and beyond-(rear sights start at 300 meters-lowest distance setting). The power of 6.5x55 (commonly available) tells you why these rifles perform so well- and why recoil is so much a "non-issue" with these particular rifles.  In fact, it was "Kara-mojo-Bell"- the biggest Elephant Hunter in the World- used exactly these 6.5 Swedish rifles long ago (sporterized)- barrrels cut - stocks cut too- to bring us to the Rigby or Holland Bolt Rifle classics of the 1910-30's. Sporterized Swedish Mausers were the first to see Africa that way.

Pick your piece of History here- Your choice. If you decide to buy both- I'll pick up the tab on Shipping- Lower 48.
