Description:
Serial #450011, .45 ACP, 5” barrel with a fine, bright bore that has a very small amount of freckling within the grooves. This is a 1918-made pistol that retains about 75-80% of the original black finish that has flaked to a mild gray patina on the balance, mainly along the rear of the slide on either side. The front strap has a smooth freckled brown-gray patina mixing with specks of original black finish as well. There is some silvering along the exposed edges and bearing surfaces, but the smaller parts have most of their original blue remaining without any noticeable finish loss. The checkered wood double-diamond grips are in very good plus condition with some flattening of the points and scattered minor handling marks and minor blemishes, mostly at the butt and tops of the panels. A single correct, two-tone flat-base magazine is included. This is a handsome example of a “Black Army” 1911 and rates fine plus condition overall. FFL or C&R
