This Chamelot-Delvigne type solid frame revolver started out as an 11mm pinfire but was converted to centerfire by the Kronborg Rifle Factory sometime around 1897. The metal retains 92-95% of the original blue finish with some silvering at the muzzle as well as along the high edges and projections. The hammer retains most of the original bright fire blue while the trigger, ejector housing, and pivoting hammer-block safety have a mostly smooth plum-brown patina with fire blue remaining on the balance. All numbers are matching and the barrel markings are still crisp, as are the unit markings on the left side of the frame. The checkered European walnut grip is in excellent condition with a few minor handling marks and flattening of the points, mainly at the butt on either side. The mechanism is tight and functions flawlessly. This is a simply excellent example of a seldom seen European military revolver and would make a splendid addition to any collection.
