As close to perfect as it gets. This carbine is all completely original. Wood and metal are in excellent condition. Barrel bore is perfect. Bluing rates 95% and case colors are 80%+. It is a .50 caliber with a 21 1/2" barrel and 38 5/8 overall length. Weight is 7 3/4 lbs, This Smith has the correct cartouches and inspectors marks. A Civil War carbine in this type condition is ultra rare.
