Description:
A somewhat early trapdoor rifle with the high arch breech clock in the 70k serial range. A pretty decent looking trapdoor but does show it's age. An aging blue on the bbl. Inside the bore is bright and shiny with good rifling. Some light roughness but overall a good condition bore. Sideplate has some blue and not sure if it has been redone in an arsenal rebuild? Markings on the sideplate are nice with the US Springfield and the Eagle being very distinct. Wood has dings and scratches with an area in the cleaning rod channel slightly chipped out. Fits good at the trigger guard and lower tang. A coat of some finish has been applied.
