This is a handsome revolver that has retained 95-97% of the original blue finish with some silvering along a few of the high edges and most of the finish loss occurring on the strap where the police markings were deeply stamped. The revolver is one that was issued to the Toronto, Ontario Canada Police force: “M.T.P. .1416.” (Metropolitan Toronto Police). The black composite “Webley” grips are also in excellent condition with only a few very minor handling marks and some mild flattening of the points. A small an unobtrusive import stamp is present on the frame under the cylinder (not visible unless the revolver is broken open). Toronto had a long history with Webley; the RIC model was initially issued and some examples were actually carried by the force into the early 1950s when these top-break Webleys were also in service (the “A” prefix was first used in 1947). This is a scarce, police issued revolver with lots of original finish remaining. FFL or C&R SOLD Manufacturer: Webley Model: Mk.IV Serial Number: A10845 Caliber Info: .38 S&W Gauge Info: .38 S&W |
