Description:
WW2 SPRINGFIELD M1 OR M-1 GARAND .30-06 RIFLE DATE 12-43. Serial numbered in the 244,xxx range with matching barrel date. Barrel with pre D Day date December, 1943. Original example with the addition of the later T105 rear sight and sight cover with Cold War era Danish Navy “Anchor” stamp and number. Fine overall with most of the original parkerized finish with light wear. Stock with Ordnance Inspector’s “OG” rectangular cartouche on stamp on the left side of the butt stock and Ordnance circled “P” proof stamp on the pistol grip behind the trigger guard bow. Perfect working order and excellent bore. Nice example of a Mid War M1 dated prior to the battles of Saipan, Tinian, Liberation of the Philippines, Iwo Jima and Okinawa as well as the battles of the European Theatre. In the 1950’s it was again in service with the Danes as part of the NATO Cold War Defensive network.
