Reportedly Ruger made ony a few hundred of these "Finger Groove Sporters" with the hand checkered stock, and this is likely the niceset one available for sale. Mechanically perfect inside and out. Weaver V22 variable scope has fine crosshairs and crystal-clear optics. Williams leather sling is drying-out and could use some leather treatment. Barrel and its bore are perfect. Metal trigger housing appears scratch-free and the action interior, beside some dried-up oil, looks great. This one has seen VERY little use. Stock has one dark spot in the RH finger groove that looks like a knot. Wood has a particularly nice grain and beautiful dark color, with that gorgeous full-pointed checkering!
