According to Griffin & Howe records Francotte number 28044 was sent to Von Lengerke & Antoine in Chicago in 1901, returned unsold to VL&D in 1903 and then purchased by an unnamed customer. The retail price of the Grade No.2 was $100. In 1901 $100 dollars was a **** load of money! About 16K today. This shotgun is in excellent original condition. Who ever gets it is truly lucky.
