Description:
This is an Early Bryan Family Big Timber, Montana made Shiloh Sharps Model 1874 Sporter #3, Serial number B25XX. Chambered in the desireable 50 Gov't. cartridge, aka 50/70 or 50- 1 3/4". It sports a 30 inch Standard weight octagon barrel with a heavy blade front and full Buckhorn rear sight. This one also has the original 1 in 36 inch Right Hand twist rate just like the original Sharps Rifle Company of the 1870's used. It will shoot the original 450 grn gov't bullet very accurately, unlike the newly made Shiloh 50 caliber rifles that
are cut 1 in 22 inch with a Left Hand twist to shoot the heavy (and very painful) 600-650 grain bullets.
The 50/70 in my opinion, is one of three  Black Powder Cartridge calibers that are fairly easy to load and make shoot accurately. The other two being the 40/65 and the 45/70.
For hunting game, there really is no need for a cartridge with more powder capacity as the 50-1 3/4  will cleanly kill any critter up to and including the American Bison. Plus, it's got a good beat..................... and it's easy to dance to...................!!!!
Beautiful dark walnut stock and forearm with semi-crescent Military steel buttplate and period correct pewter nose cap.
This one begs to be taken elk or deer hunting. How about a 50 caliber Sharps for your next (or first)  Buffalo Hunt?
Weight with the included C.Sharps NEW IDEAL Sporting tang sight with windage and elevation is an even 10lbs. on my Postal scale.
Condition is overall 95% with some light handling marks in the wood. Shipping will be $50.oo.
Thank you for looking
