Purdey & Sons, Audley House, South Audley Street, London: An Extra Finish 28 Bore Bar Action Sidelock Self Opening Side by Side Game Gun Finished in 1968, This piece remains in 95-96% original condition, 28" Vent Rib Ejector Chopper Lump barrels, .553 .012 & .021" (Mod. & Full), 2 3/4" chambers, Sideclip action body, London proved at 3 1/4 tons, Double triggers, Bushed strikers, Beavertail forend, Open pistol grip stock at 15 1/2 x 1 3/8 x 2 1/8" over a full face checkered butt, Neutral stock, Rolled trigger guard edge for the right hand, Superb 28 Bore game gun weight at 5 Lbs. 7 Oz., Very nice walnut with deep black & brown contrast, 99% coverage of classic Purdey Extra Finish floral engraving, The whole is cased in the original Purdey motorcase, This gun retains an absolute 97% bright and vivid original case colors, The heat blue on the striker bushings is 90%, The trigger face has 100% blue remaining, The forend pipe on the inside has 100% blue, The overall barrel blue remains at 96%. The barrels inside and out remain as they did in 1968. The buttstock and forend remain at 96% with the checkering at 99%. A great gun with 28" barrels, 15 1/2" lop and 5 lbs. 7 oz.
