Description:
This buff bottom tab box was used from 1889 to 1907 and it contained the first loaded shells offered by the Dominion Cartridge Company. This box contains the second type (1890 Intro) shell with "D.C. Co No 12 TRAP" headstamp. Load is No 3 shot with 3 1/2 drams black powder and 1 1/8 oz shot. Box show light soiling with a few small scuffs, edges of top are weak some small splits. Shells have low brass heads, copper primers and brown paper tubes with white top wads showing load. Heads show light tarnish. A rare box for the advanced collector.
