1967 Colt Diamondback .38 Special, blue, 4-inch ventilated rib, adjustable rear site, fixed front site, walnut grips. NO MODIFICATIONS.

To me the 4-inch barrel has the ideal balance of the other barrel lengths; just the right weight, accuracy and carry ability.

I bought this beautiful Diamondback new in 1967. After joining the local "Isaac Walton League", I took it to the range to sight it in. After cleaning it the first time, I was distracted by career and family. In all these years, I have shot no more than 250 rounds through it. So it has never really passed its break-in period.

I am including the leather holster and the trigger-shoe accessory shown in the pictures. The trigger-shoe is attached with 2 Allen screws and it is easily attached or removed using a .050 wrench. Personally, I really like the firm feel the shoe gives. The pictures show it both on and off the trigger.

I tried to provide pictures that would help you explore every angle of this Diamondback.

Description of photos:
  •   Right side with trigger-shoe removed.
  •   Same picture as photo-1, but with the shoe attached.
  •   Hammer cocked and Colt factory lettering.
  •   Just some ammo to show it is a .38 Special.
  •   Now to the left side, with the hammer down.
  •   A view from down under. (I can't tell if it's male or female.:-)
  •   View from the rear with the hammer cocked and adjustable rear site.
  •   Holstered. Walnut grips are perfect on both sides.
  •   Let’s look inside from the right side. (No wear in the action.)
  •   Now from the left side with trigger-shoe removed.
  •   Clear view of barrel printing, serial number, holster, and shoe ribs.
  •   The ammo reflects light to show the only flaw in the bluing (below the Colt logo).
  •   Another view of the cylinder without ammo.
  •   Back-lighting to show that the chambers are clean and smooth.
  •   Finally, illuminated barrel rifling.

Again, I have been the only owner, so it has not been passed around. It includes the original holster and the optional trigger-shoe. It will come packed in a hinged, plastic, foam padded box. (Note: This is not the original factory box. No papers or manual.)

The only flaw is on the left side grip, just above the Colt logo. The chambers and bore are perfect.

Please call between 11:00 - 8:00 Central.
