Smith Field Grade 20 Gauge SxS Shotgun 98% FACTORY FINISH, SINGLE TRIGGER, EJECTOR General Specs: LC Smith, Year 1947, 20 Gauge, 7 lbs, Side by Side Serial Number: fws21040 There are quite a few L.C. Smith Field Grade 20ga. guns for sale, but almost none like this gun! For those who want the very best factory original condition and special order features, this may be your gun. Built in 1947, snFWS21040 came from the factory with a single selective trigger, ejectors, single sighting plane high rib (this feature really works, making the sighting plane like an over/under, with no barrels present in your peripheral vision), and long factory wood, giving an LOP of 14" from a rear position single trigger. This LOP is like having a 15" LOP if there was a front trigger, so tall shooters can get this gun to fit them. With the addition of a vintage pad the LOP would be 14 3/4" to the rear trigger! The case color is vivid and bold, definitively factory original, as is the barrel and trigger guard blue. Even the wood is factory original finish with just a few handling marks present. This gun has seen little use and very good care in the 68 years it has been around. Anyone who does a search on the internet will realize that an Elsie in this condition, in 20ga., with these extra features is near impossible to find. We all know that condition is the most important part of investment quality firearms, so you can buy and use this gun for upland game and clay target games and it will appreciate in value as you enjoy its use.
