Description:
Most blunderbusses are a somewhat short, small handy weapon and you expect some pirate to be carrying it around on the deck of a ship. Not this baby, this thing is massive! Overall length isn't so extreme, being 44" long. But when you look at the top or bottom of the gun and measure it, it is 3-3/4" in width. That of course would make you say "how big is the bore?". That, like the rest of the gun, is massive. Bore diameter is almost 1-1/2". This does not flare as much as a lot of blunderbusses you see, but at the muzzle it is over 1-3/4". To top it all off, the bbl is brass with a very nice, aged brass patina to it. Numerous proof marks and other markings towards the bridge of the gun. The notches do not hold it in place, the frizzen spring works. The lock is metal of course. All other furniture is the same as the bbl, being brass. Old wood, in overall good condition with splits and cracks here and there, showing its age. No doubt it has had something rubbed on it with its age. This blunderbuss has a badass look about it!!
