Payment Types Accepted: checks, cashiers/bank check, money order Description: 1894 .25-35 20" OCTAGON SHORT RIFLE, this is a strange one as it has the correct one inch shorter forearm proper for a short rifle, yet the a call to Cody confirmed this rifle left the factory as an octagon .25-35 in 1904 with no mention of the barrel length, the barrel also has a Winchester proof mark on it, but not the receiver. My guess is that it was returned to the factory at some time after being shipped for the barrel to be replaced with a 20" one. At this time the factory would have fitted a new short forearm to the rifle. That's my guess. Anyway, this rifle now wears a carbine rear sight with slide intact (looks like it had a buckhorn and tang sight on at one time) and a Marble blade/bead front sight, good aged/thinning barrel blue and mag blue, receiver shows about half the blue on the sides with the balance silvered, tight action, bore is a little dark and shows light wear but not pitted, generally VG wood with a couple of age cracks coming back from the forend cap, butt stock has what looks like a brand on the right side by the butt plate- possibly a "CG" monogram/brand, certainly an interesting '94.
