Description:
The first lever action competition with Winchester, the Whitney Kennedy was manufactured between 1880 and 1886 with about 23,500 produced.This specimen represents an early production model with a serial number of 577 and early Patent Dates stamped on the top tang.The barrel is devoid of the "KENNEDY" stamp and only shows the ".44 CAL C.F." marking near the receiver.This rifle was also produced with the collector desireable S lever.

Metal Condition: Original finish is fading to a plum brown / grey patina with light freckling here and there. Some small rust spots appear at the top & bottom of the receiver
Wood Condition: The wood is remarkably well preserved showing normal to light use marks and may have been refinished in the distant past.
Bore Condition: light pitting throughout with intact rifling very shootable bore

Stock: Uncheckered straight grip with metal crescent butt plate with storage trap
