#3811 C. R. Alsop 36 Caliber Navy Standard Model Percussion Revolver, RARE
This is 4 ½” 36 caliber Navy 5 shot percussion revolver. It is marked Alsop on the barrel and in the cylinder flute. This is one of the nicest Alsop revolvers that I have seen in a long time. There were only 500 made from 1862-1863 and are quite rare in this condition. It is serial number 336 and was probably made in the first year. All three of the Alsop family, Charles, Joseph Sr. and Joseph Jr. were listed as members of the Savage Firearms Corp and influenced the design of the Savage Navy revolver. It retains between 80 and 90% original finish. The mechanical function is excellent, the bore is bright and shinny and would be excellent except for spots of corrosion.
