This is a Lithgow SHT.LE III* rifle in .303 British. The serial number indicate manufacture in 1922. The crest on the barrel just in front of the receiver indicates that this rifle was issued to the Austrian Police in the post-WW II period. The condition is Excellent with slight handling marks on the grip of the butt stock. The bore has strong rifling with no visible pitting.
