Description:
Merkel 16X16 over 8X57JRS bore drilling in exceptional condition. 24.5" barrels; 14.25" length of pull from front trigger. Heirloom I inherited from my father for which I have no use. Condition is near new and shows virtually no handling marks. Finely figured rear stock fitted in early 1990s matches forestock very well. Case color and bluing excellent. Bores are mirror bright. Full features include side clips, cocking indicators, safety screws on all action screws, bushed firing pins and profuse engraving. Given the 1942 proof date this was likely a no-expense spared drilling made for a very high ranking party member or influential person. I am a private party and can arrange shipment from a local FFL or arrange for inspection in Fairfield County, CT area (45 minutes from NYC).
