NICE, HONEST EARLY 1879 TRAPDOOR SPRINGFIELD RIFLE, .45-70, #150XXX, MADE 1881 WITH CORRESPONDING SWP/1881 STOCK CARTOUCHE, an uncleaned and un-messed with example that shows some honest use, but no abuse, exc. bright bore, fine barrel blue that is showing some light age only, fine wood with normal light handling marks and no cracks, even retains the slotless screws in the rear sight (the slide on the sight needs the little spring to hold it tight- should be an easy fix), fine markings on the lock plate, breech block and proofs on the barrel, these fine and historical rifles are still under-priced but starting to appreciate in value as they should.
