Description:
For sale is a 1965 winchester 101 12 gauge, over-under shotgun. It is a Japanese manufacturered unit with the original wood and bluing. The action is rock solid and NOT bottomed out. Im looking to move this one along to make room for a different O/U. Details specific to the firearm are as follows: -"Winchester proof" steel shot capable, chrome lined 30" barrels with full chokes and 3" back bored chamber. -K132xxx serial number. Per my conversation with winchester this guns receiver was made on the production line in Europe before being sent to the plant in Japan where serialized barrels were matched to the unfinished work in process sent over when winchesters production relocated. The fully Japanese produced 101 models didn't begin until the 150xxx serial mark. Further more, its been indicated by winchester that the only 101 offered in 30" tubes with dual fixed full chokes was the "field magnum" and bases upon the serial numbers, this guns production time was within the first run of the aforementioned field magnum model that debuted in 1965. -jeweled action with ejectors -tang safety with select fire barrels -all engraving and checkering on the firearm is hand done. -all finishes are original and in fantastic condition. -gun functions flawlessly -all parts have matching serial # -Do note: winchester 101 shotguns of this vintage, condition, serial number and history are uncommon.
