Description:
Serial #323556, .30-06, 24” barrel with a poor bore. Test fired and groups 8" 50 yards. This rifle has a 6-18 dated, “RIA” barrel with “C107” lot number on the underside. The metal retains approximately 85% plus of the original parkerized finish with some plum-brown mixing and mild silvering at the muzzle and other projecting edges. Further silvering can be seen on the Springfield-made, swept handle bolt. The walnut stock and handguard are in very good condition with an added military oil finish over numerous small handling marks and blemishes throughout and a faint but still visible cartouche is present on the left side of the wrist. The rifle has a Boyt-made leather target sling installed that has a great deal of crazing and flaking at the flex points. Additionally, the rifle comes with an original and still serviceable 1903 leather rifle scabbard with “D&S/11-18” maker stamp and “J.E.W.” inspector stamp. This is a handsome Rock Island Arsenal-made '03 that comes with a great original accessory. FFL or C&R
