Description:
Rare Austrian Steyr S-Tropical (heavy barrel and spare rotary magazine tucks into the butt stock) provided to me by an African PH that retired to America. Gun was used for client backup (and additionally saw some limited action in the Zimbabwean civil war and on anti-poaching patrols, both while hunting.) All metal completely re-finished by Kimber gunsmith D. Wells. Polished Brass inlays in open sights, Leupold VX-III 1.5-5x atop German Bock Quick-Detachable rings and scalloped bases. Walnut stock has rosewood forearm tip and grip cap w/ inlay. Q/D pachmyer sling swivel studs. Stock developed the typical pistol grip fracture but has been repaired and refinished and a Silvers recoil pad installed. Cold tooled steel barrel is very accurate and the slick action has one of the greatest FEED and EXTRACT mechanisms, ever!!! As this is of Austrian and German origin, it is a factory gun of semi-custom standards (i.e. Weatherby++) and will shoot <1" groups (not just 3-shot) all day long! 100s of rounds through the gun have revealed no issues whatsoever. A great, ready-to-go gun for bear, moose, or elk, or a combination plains/dangerous game hunt in Africa! (4) boxes of high quality Norma African PH ammo included, plus 2 additional boxes of empties if you're a reloader. A pleasure to shoot (this is considered the smallest of big game guns in Africa!) Gun will outshoot any factory American (too) lightweight sporter!
