Description: Antoine Joseph Defourney, Herstal, Belgium sideplated boxlock made in 1949 with 26 7/8" IM/XF Aciere Comprime vent rib ejector barrels with small white mid bead and white front bead. Bores are excellent and measure .639 top and bottom. Choked .036 top and .019 bottom. Case colored reciever with double underlugs and crossbolt. Miller selective single trigger. Reciever and breech end of barrels with full coverage of very nice scroll engraving with four gold inlays; setters on each sideplate, partridge on triggerguard, and woodcock on toplever. Straight grip stock from highly figured European Walnut. Three piece forend. Fancy 32 LPI checkering pattern that wraps the forend. Deeley forend release. Old English pad. DAC-1 1/2" DAH- 2 1/4" Cast off 1/4" 13 3/4" LOP to rear position single trigger. 6lb 8oz This is a great looking gun with lots of eye appeal. It is tight as a tick showing little use. Lever remains well right of center. Breechface is unblemished. Manufactured in 1949 which was a better era. Defourney is a respected Belgium maker. Mr Frank Pugliese, Trenton, New Jersey imported quality European firearms in the late 40's and early 50's. He also did left hand conversions for Springfields and Mausers. This gun retains 90% original case colors. Stock shows only light handling marks. It has excellent dimmensions and balances just behind the hinge pin. It comes to the shoulder with ease. It has led a sheltered life for the past 67 years. It deserves to be used. SOLD |
