Description:
Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are extremely proud to offer this matched pair of Colt's model 1873 revolvers. Colt really pulled out the stops to create a fitting tribute to celebrate 100 years of one of the most historically important guns ever made. They both reflect the early versions, with a host of features sure to interest the collector. Black powder frames, bullseye ejectors, narrow sights, beveled cylinders bearing serial numbers, frame marked caliber, hollow base pins, long row hammer checkering, early patent dates are what make these guns so special. Both feature 7 1/2 inch barrels. The .45 adds cavalry markings, such as "U.S." stamp, inspector marks, lack of caliber markings, and a cartouche on the one piece walnut grip. The .44 has the etched type barrel marking, caliber on frame and under the barrel, and early eagle grips. Finished in nickel, deep rich blue and case color like only Colt can produce, these wheel guns are striking to behold. It is hard to believe they are 43 years old. They are unfired and unturned since leaving the factory. The .45 has a faint turn line on half the cylinder, probably from factory inspection. They are about as close to new as you can get. The beautiful cases are also in very good condition. Colt spared no expense here, either. Matched pairs of these important commemorative Colts have fetched over 6000 dollars in the past year. Considering that a plain second genny Colt can bring 3000, I predict these special cased pairs will continue to move up in value quickly. We weren't there to buy an original, so we accept the rust, wear, and patina. This is a chance to own the early style guns in near perfect condition. If you consider yourself a serious Single Action Army collector, these guns are a must have item. I see another set listed here for over 6000 dollars.
