SOLD...Antique 2nd model Smith & Wesson .38 DA. Here is a decent but no finish ole Smith & Wesson 2nd model in .38 S&W caliber. Has the longer 4" barrel. This gun S/N is 108437 and all matching. This gun has no finish remaining and is an antique gray finish over all. It does show some very light pin prick pitting on the cylinder in a couple places and on the right side of the barrel by the latch and a few specks on the right side of the frame. Nothing that detracts from the gun being it has no finish. The mechanics are excellent in DA and SA. It indexes on the SA correctly.. It holds on the safety notch and locks up very tight. Crisp and tight as a new gun. NO barrel wobble at the latch or the hinge. All the markings are excellent. The grips are very good but show the very common cracks on the bottom of both grips as you can see in the photos. They are solid and nothing missing. The bore is very strong with just some minor roughness and crud and I am sure it will clean to much better. The chambers are clean with no roughness. Not much to say about this one but it is a very tight gun and would make someone a great shooter with proper black powder loads of course and as cheap as you will find a 2nd model in perfect working order.
