Description:
Serial #318, .38 Colt New Police (.38 S&W), 6” barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some very mild freckling within the grooves. This is a 1905-made revolver that has both the old “+COLT'S+/(Rampant Colt)/NEW POLICE” sideplate marking and the newer “POLICE POSITIVE” marking on the left side of the barrel. The metal retains 80-85% of the original blue finish with silvering and fading at the muzzle and along the high edges. Additionally, there are scattered areas of mild freckling on the sides of the frame, as well as on the gripstraps and sides of the barrel. The trigger and hammer have a few spots of minor freckling but still retain most of their original lustrous fire bluing. The checkered hard rubber grips are numbered to the gun on the interior and are in fine shape with some minor flattening of the points. This is an interesting and highly desirable little DA Colt, made with two different model markings, and rates fine condition overall. FFL or C&R
