Description:
Firearm that you will receive with this is pulled straight from a surplus crate. They are all in very good-excellent condition, there will be handling marks here and there on wood and metal finishes. Bores are also very good to excellent, no rust is evident on these rifles as they are still packed in Cosmoline. The pictures are a stock photo and exemplify the exact model you will receive NOT necessarily the exact firearm.

Manufacturer: Imported by Century, Izhevsk or Tula

Model: M91/30 Hex Receiver

Caliber: 7.62X54R (Russian)

Barrel Length: 28 3/4" / 73 cm

Capacity: 5 Round Internal Magazine

The rifle that you will receive will MOST LIKELY be an Izhevsk manufactured during the 1920's-1930's, HOWEVER there is a chance that you will receive a TULA from the same era. Due to the number of rifles we have we will not be sorting them by manufacturer.

Description: These rifles are known as refurbished M91/30 or Arsenal Refinished, they are cleaned and packed in cosomline for long term storage. These rifles will come with their issued accessories. The accessories were cleaned and stored away in the same crates as the rifles. What you will receive along with your rifle is an original Bayonet, not necessarily matched serial number. Original sling, oiler can, cleaning kit, (2) double ammo pouches and the Multi-tool with 0.75 and 0.95 firing pin depth gauges.

The Model 1891/30 Rifle (Vintovka obr. 1891/30) was commissioned by the Revolutionary Military Council of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. Early in 1924 a committee consisting of Ye. K. Kabakov and I. A. Komaritskii, began work on modernizing the M1891, using the dragoon model as a basis. The first trial rifles were made in 1927 and by 1930 a new design had been agreed upon, which was standardized on 28 April as the "Rifle Model 1891/30" (vintovka obrazers 1891/30goda.) Production of the M1891/30 began on 10 June 1930  at Tula and Izhevsk and ceased at Tula in the spring or summer of 1942 . Izhevsk discontinued production in 1944. Because supplies of M1891 parts (barrels, receivers, stocks, etc.) were in great supply, some M1891/30s were still being made with hexagonal receivers as late as mid-1936.

CLEANING TIP:
These rifles ship packaged in Cosomline and MUST be thoroughly cleaned before usage.

After receiving this rifle to more easily remove the Cosmoline, soak metal parts in mineral spirits until most of the cosmoline has dissolved. After doing so transfer to a container of HOT water, then allow metal to air dry.

Putting a thin film of standard gun oil over the metal surfaces of the firearm will help prevent future rusting.
