Churchill (Gun Makers) Ltd., 8 Agar St., Strand, London W.C. 2: A Churchill Bar Action Sidelock Ejector 20 Bore Game Gun Model Premier Made in 1921, The Premier is their highest grade, 28" Ejector Dovetail Lump Barrels with a matted concave rib, London Nitro proved at 7/8 ounce, The bores at .616 .012 & .015" (Open Mod. & Mod.), 2 3/4" chambers, Correct wall thickness at .037" on the right barrel & .035" on the left as it has correct bores & original barrel finish, Stanton & Son locks, Double triggers, Splinter forend with an Anson release, Straight hand stock at 14 3/8 x 1 1/2 x 2 3/8" over a 1" pad with 1/2" of spacers, It will go 13 15/16" with a 1" pad & the spacers removed (Ideal for the lady or youth), It was a ladies gun used after WWII, Neutral stock, Rolled trigger guard edge, 6 lbs., Very nice wood that remains very solid inside & out, 99% coverage of period scroll engraving, Traces of case colors remain but the face of the breech still has 80% colors, The original barrel blue at 85%, The buttstock and forend finish is original and remains at 86% with typical handling marks, The checkering remains at 92%, The barrels inside & out remain in excellent condition to near excellent plus without a ding to be had, It is cased in the original maker's brass cornered leather trunk with the original trade label. The locks inside and the internal inletting remain in excellent condition with the inletting looking almost as good as it did 95 Years ago. This piece was on The White Star Line as First Class Baggage; at that time the Titanic was on the bottom of the big pond.
