London: A Westley Richards 318 Accelerated Express Bolt Rifle on a Mauser Action that was made about 1923 by Westley, 26" barrel with an island express sight with 1 standing & 4 folding sights, Birmingham proved at 37 Cordite & 250 grain bullet max, Sling eye on the barrel, Barrel lug with a forend tiedown, Steel crossbolt inside at the recoil lug, Non-hinged floorplate; The barrel, stock, action & steel buttplate all have matching serial numbers, 7 lbs. 13 oz., Sporter stock, Wrap around point pattern checkering, Horn forend tip, No cheekpiece, 14 3/4" LOP over a steel buttplate with a trapdoor, 96% absolute original blue, Original stock finish and remains at 90% with storage marks only, The checkering remains at 98%, The bore is absolute new and the story goes that it is unfired. This gun came out of Bombay and it had been stored in a South Indian Temple for protection of the Temple Treasury. I am certain the story is true as it appears unfired and has storage marks only.
