This pistol design was the last single shot flintlock pistol contracted by the U.S. government between 1836 and 1844. The pistol consists of single piece walnut stock, iron fittings, and permanently attached ramrod on a swivel. The wood stock has slight wear and has both a JH cartouche and WAJ cartouche. The barrel is stamped on top U.S, JH, and P. The pistol has a bright finish on barrel and fittings with some patina on the lock plate.
