Description:
This is a 1957 Browning Superposed Lightening in excellent condition. It is 12ga and has both modified and improved cylinder chokes. This shotgun has been in the family since around 1958 and has seen very minimal use.  My father went pheasant hunting several times with this shotgun and I have also test fired it recently. There are very few, and very minor handling marks, and also very few tiny scratches, here and there, that are barely noticeable and, in my opinion, do not detract from the appearance of this shotgun at all. There are no cracks, gouges, deep scractches, or bad wood.  There are some tiny marks on the top of the vent rib, near the receiver, but they are not noticeable to me unless I am looking for them. There is no rust, and the blueing and wood look fresh and beautiful. The bores look like brand new condition to me and they shine with no defects or damage. It appears that he had the recoil pad upgraded at some point.  It says, "Decelerator" on it. The length of pull is 14.5" - measured from trigger to back of recoil pad. The safety lever leans to the right with the action closed (just as the owner's manual states that it should when the action hasn't been fired much).  It functions perfectly. I doubt that it has seen even one box of shells.  It has been kept lubricated in a humidity controlled safe since I took possession of it years ago. It's been very well cared for over the years. I test fired the shotgun and it fires and ejects perfectly every time. It comes with the original Browning tolex case that is in excellent+ condition because it was only used to transport the shotgun on a few trips. It also comes with the original owner's manual and a wooden cleaning rod. The cleaning rod is aftermarket because it says, "Brownells" on it.  . The tigger is gold plated and the plating is not worn. This would make an excellent shotgun for upland birds and game.
