SMITH CIVIL WAR CARBINE CIRCA 1863. .50 caliber 21 ½” barrel. All original and matching with exception of front sight blade which is a higher modern shooter replacement. Saddle ring missing but easy to replace. Very good with wood loss on the forend and two chips out of stock. Grey metal with good markings. American Machine Works, Chicopee, Mass. production. Tight working order and exceptional near mint bore with perfect rifling.
