Factory Engraved Presentation Model 1894 Marlin in 32-20
This rifle has it all. Along with the aforementioned factory engraving and inscribed dedication are the half octagon half round barrel, half length magazine tube, nickel trim, and folding tang sight.
Factory engraved during the estimated time of Ulrich’s employment at Marlin, this rifle resembles other known engraving work of his. The wood stocks are of factory checkered pattern C and retain a majority of the original finish, thinning at high spots.
80 to 90 percent of original blue, thinning around the take-down collar with only minor handling marks. In caliber 32-20, this Marlin is mechanically excellent with a very good bore.
The dedication, consuming one flat of the octagon, reads: “Presented To The Grand Worthy President F.O.E. Carl G. Winter On His Visit To The Marlin Rockwell Corp. New Haven, C.T.” The Fraternal Order of Eagles is a charitable organization, founded in 1898, and having numerous noteworthy members that includes seven past US Presidents.
