HI-STANDARD HD MILITARY TARGET PISTOLS MATCHING PAIR 4.5” and 6.75”
This is an unusual find I have had in my collection for over 35 years. It is a matching pair of the classic scarce HI-STANDARD HD MILITARY models in the 4.5” and the 6.75” respectively. Both guns are as good as they get - in near honest mint condition with 1940s DOMs. They are hard cased ( solid oak fitted red velvet lined original period Camp Perry cases). This model has a very colorful history. Not only did the Army choose them for marksmanship training for new trainees – but the OSS and CIA ordered silenced models for their dirty feeds as well. The most famous of all HDs lies in a museum in Moscow. It had been issued to Francis Gary Powers when he was on his fateful mission – shot down and taken prisoner of the Soviets during the tense cold-war period 1n 1960. U-2 Pilot Powers was returned – but the cold-war spy trophy remained in the USSR. The HD was made until 1955 but examples remain scarce today. Perhaps only one in 25 -30 HI-Standards for sale today will be an HD model. I offer a 3 day refund inspection and ask that you please phone me with any questions ( 813-8861235).
