Springfield Armory Manufactured Caliber 30-06 M-1 “Garand:
Unofficially named ‘The Garand’ after its legendary designer, John Garand, the M1 Garand Rifle is one of the most famous firearms in the history of the United States. General George S. Patton once said the M1 is “the greatest implement of battle ever devised.”
This particular rifle was manufactured in 2003 by the Springfield Armory as a limited edition extension of their prior production of M-1’s. They used original U.S. Government issue parts, a parkerized finish, and a new smooth finish walnut stock, while faithfully following all of the specifications of previous production. This rifle was purchased directly from the Armory and has been held since then by one owner, who has shot it a half dozen times, with good accuracy, using military surplus ammo variously manufactured in the U.S., Denmark, Korea and Greece. The rifle is in very nice condition with normal cycling wear and some handling marks on the stock. The rifle is sold with the documents that accompanied it from the factory: the manufacturer’s certificate of serial number authenticity, certificate of headspace setting, the owners manual, and a copy of the Army’s FM23-5 operating manual.
