Description:
Serial #2531K, .303 British, 25” barrel with a fine, bright bore that has traces of freckling within the grooves. This is a 1948 dated, non-import marked rifle that has matching numbers on the bolt (with No. 4 style cocking piece), and on the nosecap. The metal has 80-85% of the armory-applied Suncorite finish remaining which has flaked to the underlying dark gray metal on the exposed edges as well as gray fading on the handle and bearing surfaces of the bolt. Additionally, there is some mild pinprick pitting scattered about and the brass buttplate has a dark yellow-ochre patina. The forend and handguards are in fine shape with light surface marring and handling blemishes while the copper wire wraps are intact and still relatively bright. The wood has scattered bruises and blemishes, heaviest at the buttplate, and a small Indian “25” rack number stenciled on the buttstock. A Components Ltd. discharger cup has been fitted to the muzzle and retains about 70% of the original blue finish with the balance turned to dark gray. Additionally, a .303 magazine and a faded green canvas sling are included. This is a great looking, and complete, grenade rifle that is in fine condition overall. FFL or C&R
