Description:
An A.E.F. issued British M1915 Mark I helmet. This piece is missing its basic liner and chinstrap but the felt remains. This piece shows some original painting: it bears the YD Yankee Division crest and the depiction of an artillery piece and the no. 102. Examination of the paint and wear indicates that this typical soldier's painting appears to be of the period and correct. A WWI piece of American issued headgear. A great display piece that could be easily restored.
