VERY SELDOM SEEN ANTIQUE MODEL 1893 12 GA. PUMP SHOTGUN, MADE 1897, this was the forerunner of the famed Model 1897, this is one of the better examples I've seen in a while as most seem to be found in terribly used and abused condition, 32" barrel, aged blue to plum receiver with a little gray/brown mixing, thin blue on barrel mixing heavily with some gray and brown, exc. un-cracked stock and early style three-screw forend, smooth steel butt plate, slide rail marked "Model 1893" and has the last patent date of 1892, unique receiver with cut-out at the top unlike the straight sides of the later Model 1897 (visible in top photo), these were made for the 12 ga. 2 5/8" black powder shells, bore shows normal light pitting, tight action.
