Description:
EARLY WHITNEY ROLLING BLOCK FACTORY 16GA. SHOTGUN, MADE 1881-1888,  more scarce than the more common  Remington Rolling Block shotguns, this one has a 32" steel barrel with a surprisingly excellent bore showing only the most minor or surface corrosion ahead of the chamber, bead front sight and correct fluted receiver top used only on shotguns, serial number 69XXX with last three digits on the barrel under the forend, tight action, fine+ stock and forend showing very light handling only,  part of hard rubber butt plate that comes over the stock on top is broken off, uncleaned gray/brown unmarked receiver, very aged blue to brown barrel patina, only the single screw holding the receiver pin retaining bands on the left side is a replacement, tight action, unfooled with metal and wood
