Sturm Ruger’s long list of center fire long guns began with an unlikely first introduction in 1959/60. In America, where the bolt action rifle reigns supreme, Ruger introduced an autoloader carbine as its first center fire long gun, and it was chambered for a handgun cartridge, the .44 Remington Magnum. The Ruger Deerstalker, whose name was later changed to the .44 Carbine, was and is a very practical choice for hunting whitetail-size game in heavy cover and is also well suited for Pigs. It is short, lightweight, and has moderate recoil with four magazine-housed rounds available for a few quick follow-up shots. After more than a quarter-million carbines were produced, the .44 Carbine was discontinued. The 44 Carbine has an 18 ½” barrel, blowback action and a 4 round magazine. This 25th Anniversary carbine was manufactured in 1984 and this model was only offered by Ruger in 1985. This fine carbine has a rich brown walnut stock featuring the 25th Anniversary Medallion and the standard fold down rear sight. The overall condition of this piece is 99%+. This limited edition carbine shows very well and would make a fine addition to any Ruger Carbine collection. SPECIFICATIONS PLEASE INSPECT YOUR NEW FIREARM FOLLOWING THESE CONDITIONS.
