Rare Ruger Hawkeye Single Shot Pistol. Excellent Condition With Leupold M8 4x Scope.
Rare, factory original Ruger Hawkeye single shot pistol in .256 Winchester Magnum. Manufactured only for the short span of two years during 1962 and 1963, this pistol is one of only ~3300 produced in response to public demand for small caliber, high velocity handguns. Built on the frame and action of a Ruger flattop single action revolver, this wonderful pistol incorporates a rotating breechblock in place of a cylinder. Ruger used an 8 ½ inch barrel with an adjustable rear notch sight and ramped front sight to give the .256 WM cartridge plenty of steel to develop the 2800 FPS muzzle velocity. The barrel is factory drilled and tapped for scope mounts. The barrel is stamped "RUGER HAWKEYE./WIN. .256 MAG. CAL.". The receiver carries standard markings. The factory walnut grips are smooth with black eagle Ruger medallions.
