Original 8 Shot Cylinder for the Colt Paterson 1st Model Ring Lever Revolving Rifle in .36 Caliber. This was the first production gun ever made by Colt. 200 1st Models were made. This one is serial number 131 and is stamped on the rear face of the cylinder. It has about half of the early style cylinder scene still visible with horses, a centaur, and a running deer. Most of the COLT name is also visible under a glass. This is a large cylinder that measures 2 inches in diameter with early style square shoulders on the lugs, double keyed slots, and front edges of chambers are chamfered. All 8 of the early Colt 4 Prong Cones are intact. A very rare and historical Colt Paterson accessory. Besides that, it makes for great pen/pencil holder on the desk.
