- This is a near mint, Rock Island Arsenal 1909 period canteen with original adjustable leather strap and hangers. Original cork plug remains with attachment chain. This canteen is marked "Company D, 14th Infantry Regiment" that was called up out of the New York National Guard in 1898 by President McKinley to serve in the Spanish-American War.
