Description:
This is a VERY RARE Hey's surgical saw that dates back to the Civil War. There are no markings on the saw and it appears to be silver plated. This surgical saw was used to cut open the skull and was used by doctors for brain removal or examination. This surgical instrument measures 7.25 long with a 1 1/2" sawing blade. Hey is not the brand name but the style of saw.
From the collection of : Doneldon M. Dennis
