The U.S. Model 1873 Springfield was the first standard issue breech-loading rifle adopted by the U. S. Army.

Metal Condition: Scattered rust areas from butt to muzzle with butt plate and trigger guard buffed. Screw heads are in good shape.
Wood Condition: The wood is dark and shows normal field use with some chip outs at the lock but no visble cracks or splits, "SWP 1890" cartouche is clearly visible on the left side of the wrist.
Bore Condition: light pitting with intact rifling a very shootable bore
